Am I the only one who has a hard time relaxing? Even when I make myself sit still for a while, my mind is still racing with thoughts of what I could be doing.
I know this happens to a lot of people when they are trying to go to sleep at night. Their brains simply won’t shut off because they are so busy thinking of things they need to do or things they are worried about. (Fortunately, my nightly habit is to read until I start dosing off, so my mind is usually occupied by a book.)
But still, I know it is not good for my body and my brain to constantly be going.
I have always heard that men are great at compartmentalizing. They are actually capable of thinking about nothing. I have told my husband more than once that I wish he could teach me how to do that.
Because, sometimes I start to feel overloaded, weighed down, and on the edge of losing my ish. And it’s during those times that I know I need to teach myself how to unwind and relax.
The Danes are masters at this. After all they invented the idea of hygge.
Have you ever heard of hygge?
Hygge is a philosophy; a way of life built around simplicity, time to unwind and slowing down the pace of life.
And simplicity is what this blog is all about.
So how can we take a note from the Danes and incorporate simplicity and relaxation into our lives? Here are 25 ways you can unwind and slow down.
