Social media isn’t all bad. Take Instagram. If you know which people to follow on Instagram, it will help you live your best life.
Because of the way I use Instagram, it adds so much value to my life.
Here’s my secret: I only follow one or two people that I actually know. Instead, I follow authors, online influencers and a couple of celebrities. (Who doesn’t need more Joanna Gaines in her life? Am I right?)
Instagram has turned into a source of inspiration, laughs, personal development and spiritual growth.
Wish yours was too?
Here are the top people to follow on Instagram to help you live your best life.
- Rachel Hollis & Dave Hollis– @msrachelhollis & @mrdavehollis
Rachel is the author of Girl, Wash Your Face and shares posts and videos that are the kick-in-the-pants things we need to hear. Her husband, Dave, recently left corporate America so they could work together, and he is also funny and inspiring. - Melissa Radke– @msmelissaradke
I recently found Melissa on “the Gram” after hearing about her book, “Eat Cake. Be Brave.” Uh, you had me at eat cake. Melissa’s message doesn’t have much to do with eating cake, but she does encourage her followers to be brave. And this sassy, Southern girl is so funny. - Candace Cameron Bure– @candacecbure
Isn’t everyone’s favorite DJ D.J. Tanner? She certainly is mine. Candace has written several books, so she doesn’t have one particular message that she promotes. But she is honestly so sweet and kind and a breath of fresh air that you can’t help but like her. - Christy Wright– @christybwright
You would think that since Christy is a Dave Ramsey personality and creator of Business Boutique all she would talk about is money and business. But that’s not her at all. She shares a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff like shenanigans with her puppy, trying to keep her son’s fish alive and taking a massive tumble during a trail run. - Jennifer Allwood– @jenniferallwood
Jennifer is a decorator extraordinaire, and I don’t typically follow those types of people. But Jennifer also has great advice for business owners and moms. She is just an all-around fun person to hear from on the regular. And yeah, her sense of style is epic too. - Crystal Paine– @themoneysavingmom
I am a longtime fan of Crystal Paine, aka The Money Saving Mom. But the best thing about following Crystal on Instagram is that she shares more of her own thoughts, behind-the-scenes looks at her life and encouragement. - Michelle Myers– @michellelmyers
If you are looking for spiritual encouragement and wisdom, Michelle Myers is your girl. She is the creator of She Works His Way, which is an online community for women in business who want to prioritize their faith and families while succeeding in business. She shares nuggets from her own Bible study time and wisdom for women leaders. Michelle is the real deal. - Amy– @beautifullybrokenjourney
Amy lost 100 lbs. on Weight Watchers, but her new journey is figuring out what health and fitness looks like for her without following any specific plan. Just listening to her thought process as she decides how often to use the scale, what kind of food to buy at the grocery and whether to have a treat or not is making me ask myself important questions too. - Tiffany Peterson– @tiffpeterson
I first heard of Tiffany at a conference and thought she was very intentional and thoughtful person. Her Instagram is packed with posts about self-care, personal growth, and motivation.
These are the people I follow most.
There is a Jim Rohn quote that says, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
I am a stay-at-home-mom, so outside of my husband and girls, the people I spend the most time with are online.
That’s why I make sure I choose people smarter than me, more motivated than me and more like the person I want to be.
How about you? Who do you love to follow online?
