If you’ve read this blog for very long, you know that I typically write about more serious subjects like faith, personal growth, and productivity. And, as women, we have pretty serious lives, balancing family, home, work and our own needs. You may have forgotten what fun is, but never fear, I created this photo scavenger hunt just for women like you.
Have you ever done a scavenger hunt before? Usually you have to locate a clue, which leads you to another clue, which leads you to another clue, and so forth, until the end when you find a huge prize.
This scavenger hunt isn’t exactly like that. There aren’t any clues, but there is a big prize: time spent doing things you enjoy and having fun along the way.
Because this is a photo scavenger hunt for women, I’ll give you a list of 10 activities to complete, and you’ll take pictures of each one. Be sure to post a couple on social media and tag me at @defeatingbusy so I can join in on your fun.
Now, let the adventure begin!
Photo Scavenger Hunt for Women Stops
A place you love in your city or town
This could be a place you think is beautiful, has great memories, or just makes you smile.
Enjoy your favorite drink
Drinks are great because they aren’t complicated. Take a photo of your morning cup of coffee, sweet tea or soda on the back porch or a fruity drink with friends. You do you!
Listen to your favorite jams
Whether you want to take a walk through the past or cue up your favorite song today, take a photo of your music player for proof you completed this one.
Kiss someone special
Don’t discriminate here. Grab your husband, your child, your dog, or your grandma and pucker up. 😚
Leave a nice note on a stranger’s car
How about an act of kindness to brighten this hunt? Grab a sheet of paper or card and leave a note saying something like, “Hope this makes you smile,” “Have a great day!” or “It’s a great day to have a great day.” Whatever sounds like you.
Watch a sunrise or sunset
Don’t miss the sunrise or sunset on this day. Take a photo and spend a few minutes watching the colors paint the sky.
Buy something frivolous
Treat yo’ self by getting yourself something you don’t need. It can be something small like a bottle of nail polish or something big. Let your budget set the amount.
Look at old photos
Remember those things called photo albums? Go dig one out and enjoy reminiscing for a few minutes.
Hop on YouTube and watch something funny
Here are a few hints since this one may be harder to find. Try watching clips from your favorite sitcom, late night show or comedian.
Wear something you feel good in
Maybe you feel good when you are dressed to the nines or maybe it’s a pair of yoga pants. Either way, put those clothes on and enjoy being you.
If you are still with me, and you’ve managed to complete all the stops, then you are entitled to the grand prize, which is….
An hour to nap, take a bath or watch Netflix
Tell your husband to watch the kids because you are a winner and you deserve a prize.
I know this may seem like a silly or pointless activity, but don’t we all need a little play and fun in our lives? Often, we are so busy taking care of other people that we forget what it’s like to have fun.
After all, it’s just like the country band, Old Dominion, says: “Life is short. Make it sweet.”
